NaNo 2019 Day 20 — Flaming Apple part II

It’s about that time again! Time for what? Time for another ‘flaming apple’ highlights reel! Only this time, I actually searched for images of flaming apples and didn’t get anything exciting, so let’s just say the lights in the book are a metaphor for the flame of my story, which, though dimmed, hasn’t gone out!

In my 1/3 of the way through November post I recapped everything I’d posted about NaNo so far as of the 10th of the month. For my day 20 wrapup, here’s a quick look back at day 11 through now:

Day 11: The part where a little snail made it over a pencil, even though it was hard.

Day 12: A love letter to my young writer, who is participating in NaNo’s Young Writer’s Program this year for the first time!

Day 13: An introduction to  Bartleby, a character who just showed up in my story and started doing things.

Day 14: I shared some inspirational quotes in the hopes that they’ll help you as they’ve helped me.

Day 15: Can’t talk. Writing.

Days 16 & 17: I had a bit of a catch-up weekend, and rolled both days into a single post.

Day 18: I reflected on the reasons writers should also be readers.

Day 19: I talked about the ways writing a novel has changed the way I look at stories.

Day 20: That’s this post. My current status, 2/3 of the way into the month, and I’ve fallen behind. It’s time for some of that catch-up magic. How many 3k days do I have in me? I guess we’ll find out if it’s enough…

And a quick bonus, still my most-read post of NaNo this year, from day 6, where I had a lot of fun writing a song parody that I called The Sounds of NaNo.

Happy NaNo-ing!

I’ll be blogging my NaNo 2019 journey right here, so feel free to follow along. And feel free to share your highlights in the comments!
